Piratical fun

With Caribbean temperatures across the Lake District recently, Lakes attraction, Ullswater ‘Steamers’ is offering kids the chance to become a pirate on the ‘high seas’ of Ullswater this August.

A swashbuckling pirate cruise will be departing from Glenridding at both 11am and 2.30pm on Friday August 23, offering piratical fun aplenty, from playing hilarious on-board games to firing the water cannon at passing foe on the lake!

This two-hour pirate-themed adventure on the lake can be as much fun for adults as children. All members in the family group are encouraged to get into the spirit through fancy dress, but it is not obligatory!

Young scallywags can not only have fun playing piratical classics such as ‘Slap the Rat’ cunningly devised by Pirate Pete and the crew, but also take home some chocolate treasure as reward for their piratical plundering. Adults will go away with a return voucher that will give them a 50 per cent discount on another sailing so they need not go back to being landlubbers for too long!

Tickets cost £12 per person, while children aged under three years can sail for free. Booking is essential and tickets are limited for this popular event.

Head to ullswater-steamers.co.uk to buy your tickets.
