Halifax boosts All in One Credit Card offer

6th August 2013 Print

Halifax has increased the interest-free period on both balance transfers and new purchases to 15 months on its All in One Credit Card.

In addition, Halifax will refund two-thirds of the 3% balance transfer fee, which means all new customers will pay a balance transfer fee of just 1%.

Richard Washington, Halifax Credit Cards, said: "The All in One card now offers extra value to customers. We understand how important it is for customers to manage their finances, especially at this time of year, which is why we have increased the interest free introductory period on both balance transfers and purchases to 15 months.

"At the same time we're refunding two-thirds of the balance transfer fee, effectively cutting the fee to just 1%. Together, these enhancements will really help customers to spread their repayment costs and restructure their borrowing in a more cost effective way."

Significant savings

With these changes, customers can make significant savings. For someone looking to restructure their existing credit or store card balances then, based on a typical balance transfer of £2,000 from a card charging 17.9% APR (variable), with 0% for 15 months and an effective 1% balance transfer fee, moving to the All in One Card would mean customers would be a whopping £371 better off over the 15 month period.

And for those people looking to buy something and spread the cost over time, if they paid for it on the All in One Card with 0% for 15 months then, compared to paying for it on a card charging 17.9% APR, on a £1,500 spend they would save themselves £292 in interest over the 15 month period.
