New home buyers’ surgery: the finance doctor will see you now in Oakham

Linden Homes is opening its doors to a one-stop shop for home hunters and first time buyers looking to move in Rutland.

The new homes surgery will be held at the popular Orchid development in Oakham, where a number of homes and apartments are currently available.

Finance experts and experienced sales staff will be on hand during the weekend – October 19/20 – to guide buyers through the process and explain the Help to Buy incentive.

The one-stop shop is designed to get you moving, and visitors will have the opportunity to speak to an independent financial adviser and solicitor on the Sunday between 1-5pm.

The open weekend will run on both days from 10.30am until 5pm.

Here’s how the Help to Buy scheme at Orchid works:

It is available on new build homes only.

Purchasers need a minimum five per cent deposit.

All homebuyers could be eligible, not just first-time buyers.

The government will lend you up to 20 per cent of the value of your property through an equity loan, which can be repaid at any time or on the sale of your home.

Buyers will only need to secure up to a 75 per cent mortgage from a bank or building society.

The maximum home purchase is £600,000

Under the Help to Buy scheme, a two-bedroom apartment would cost from £95,960.
