Low deposits at High Farm

Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire is urging home-buyers in Middlesbrough to take advantage of needing only a five per cent deposit when looking to secure a larger home through Help to Buy.

The house-builders High Farm development in Middlesbrough has witnessed an influx of buyers utilising the scheme to take their first-step on the property ladder; and Debbie Whittingham, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey explains why others should also consider the initiative.

She said: “The great thing about the Help to Buy scheme is that the five per cent deposit isn’t exclusively available to first-time buyers. Existing home-owners can make use of the incentive on properties up to the value of £600k, making upsizing easier than ever before.

“We have some stunning four bed detached homes at High Farm, which start from as little as £179,950, meaning a deposit of under £9000 can secure a large family home.”

The government-backed Help to Buy scheme enables eligible purchasers to benefit from a 20 per cent equity loan, as well as the five per cent deposit, meaning buyers need only secure a 75 per cent loan-to-value mortgage.

Debbie concludes: “Raising the deposit for a larger property can often delay making a move and this is why we are keen to highlight the options for existing home-owners.

“Our sales team at High Farm are on-hand to discuss the Help to Buy scheme, along with our other financial incentives for anyone who would like to find out more.
