NR1, Taylor Wimpey’s striking development of riverside apartments in Norwich, has won a top design award from a leading architectural body in the city.

The NR1 apartments landed the coveted Design Award from the Norwich Society – a group which champions the city’s finest buildings from the past and promotes the best architectural design and planning for its future.

NR1 comprises 174 apartments across six blocks, with each block clad in aluminium and with a ‘displaced wedge’ detail leading to balconies offering views over the River Wensum. Each block also incorporates an environmentally-friendly brown roof providing a natural habitat for invertebrates, flora and fauna.

Mark Edmonds, Regional Planning and Technical Director for Taylor Wimpey – who collected the award along with the development’s architect Richard Abbott of Type 3 Studio – says: “It’s wonderful for our team to get the recognition they so richly deserve for the hard work they have put in to make NR1 such a striking development.

“The Norwich Society is a very well-respected architectural body so to get the award from them makes it extra special. NR1 is a fantastically modern development and it’s great to see the design proving so popular.”

Taylor Wimpey has a selection of high-quality apartments currently available to reserve at NR1, including one-bedroom designs from £132,995 and two-bedroom properties from £152,995.

Superbly located and appointed to present fantastic views over the River Wensum, and right next to the Norwich City FC ground, NR1 offers city living at its best.

The Riverside leisure and entertainment complex is right on the doorstep and Norwich’s main shopping district is just a short walk away.

Home to the renowned University of East Anglia, the city also has a thriving cultural scene, with several theatres as well as arts and live music venues.

For commuters, Norwich railway station is only half a mile away from NR1 for frequent services to London, Peterborough, Cambridge and the seaside towns of Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Sheringham, while the A47, A11 and A140 provide excellent road routes north, south, east and west.

The NR1 Sales Information Centre is located in Geoffrey Watling Way, Norwich, and open Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm and 1.30pm to 5pm on Mondays. Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk/eastanglia.
