Homeowners looking to step up to the next rung of the property ladder are being urged to visit a glorious new housing development in Usk which opened to the public for the very first time at the weekend.

The Retreat, built by the leading luxury housebuilder in Wales, Charles Church, is a breath-taking development boasting luxury four and five bedroom detached properties in the pretty village of Little Mill.

With only 15 homes planned to be built this is one of the smallest and most exclusive Charles Church developments in South Wales and demand is expected to be high.

The properties on Berthin Road will be traditionally built with stone and slate and some will include features such as inglenook fireplaces, wood burning stoves and oak finish doors.

The small Victorian village of Little Mill, which derives its name from the local watermill, is located three miles north of Pontypool and three miles west of Usk and will be a perfect location for a family or couple who are looking to relocate, but still be within commutable distance to both Cardiff and Newport.

Amanda Owen, sales manager at Charles Church East Wales, said: “This prestigious development benefits from being close to the thriving city of Newport with a variety of restaurants and leisure facilities and is perfect for anybody wanting to relocate to the countryside or climb up the property ladder.

“Little Mill is the perfect Welsh village with a church, pub and village hall, as well as being surrounded by countless beautiful walks. Take your pick from countryside rambles, hikes across mountain tops or leisurely strolls along the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal.

“It is very easy to see why people want to live there and we believe buyers will need to hurry if they want to buy a home at this new development.”

People can also take advantage of the Part Exchange scheme and will be able to move into their brand new home in early 2014. Amanda explained: “We believe part exchange can really benefit people at this time of year as many purchases want to be in their new home before Spring.

“If you are eligible for Part Exchange, we arrange at least two valuations, agree a market price and buy your existing property. We aim to take the stress out of moving as there are no hidden marketing costs and no chains to break.”
