First time buyers get on the ladder at Burfield Valley

Savvy house buyers have been taking advantage of a promotion by a leading builder to secure their dream home without paying stamp duty.

Charles Church has been running an offer on selected plots at its Burfield Valley development in Hailsham, East Sussex, giving customers the chance to have their stamp duty paid in full by the developer.

The deal has led to a boom in sales, said sales advisor Maggie Mumford.

“The promotion has gone extremely well,” she said. “Stamp duty can be a major stumbling for people, particularly first time buyers trying to get their foot on the ladder.”

Buyers can also benefit from the Government’s Help to Buy scheme which means that people buying a new-build home need as little as a five per cent deposit to secure a 75 per cent mortgage while the Government supplies up to 20 per cent of the purchase price in the form of an equity loan, which is interest free and repayment free for the first five years.

Maggie added: “I think people are realising that Help to Buy might not last forever. We have lots of first time buyers coming to see us who have been encouraged by Help to Buy. We’ve been extremely busy lately.”

Burfield Valley is a beautiful development of two, three and four bedroom family homes. The site is surrounded by stunning rolling landscape and is within easy reach of the South Coast resorts.

The homes have been individually designed and constructed with a high specification and a range of modern comforts. There are currently nine three-bedroom houses available to buy off-plan and a showhome to view. Prices start at £253,950.

This latest phase of 70 homes was released earlier this year, complementing perfectly the 32 already sold since the development launched in October 2012.

The sought after development is ideally located within walking distance of the historic town of Hailsham, which has a good blend of local and national shops and several primary schools.

The Burfield Valley sales centre is open seven days a week, 10am to 5pm. Further information is also available from charleschurch.com.
