With only one in five purchasers at St Andrews Park, in Halling currently using Help to Buy to cut the cost of homeownership, Redrow is keen to ensure buyers don’t miss out on the valuable incentive.

Homes at St Andrews Park are proving popular and the final batch of properties in the current phase, The Hamlets, is now on sale.

But while Government figures suggest that more than 7,500 people in the South East have bought a new home with the aid of a Help to Buy equity loan, Redrow says homebuyers in Halling could be missing out. To guide customers through the scheme, the award-winning homebuilder is holding a special event this Saturday (October 11).

Kerry Jenkins, sales director for Redrow Homes (South East), says: “Help to Buy has proved to be an invaluable boost to people’s buying power, helping make their money go further with the aid of an equity loan for up to 20% of the price. It’s been a great success across the country, but at our St Andrews Park venture in Halling, surprisingly, it’s accounted for less than 20% of recent sales.

“Some people may have mistakenly thought they weren’t eligible after some lenders restricted Help to Buy mortgages to first time buyers only. The reality is that the scheme is still open to people making their next step on the housing ladder, provided they’ve sold their previous property subject to contract. We’d encourage anyone thinking of buying a new home in Halling to visit St Andrews Park this Saturday (October 11) to find out how Help to Buy could enable them to buy their dream home for less.”

St Andrews Park offers a good choice of properties from Redrow’s sought-after Heritage Collection.

Current prices start from £ £271,995 for a four-bedroom semi-detached Kenilworth with open plan kitchen and dining room, separate lounge and four good sized bedrooms including master with en-suite to complement the family bathroom.

With Help to Buy this stylish home can be snapped up for an initial outlay of £217,996 including a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage. The remaining 20% share is covered by the equity loan, which is interest free for five years.

The new homes at St Andrews Park enjoy a fantastic location set against the backdrop of chalk cliffs, looking down to the River Medway and across the Medway valley.

It’s an ideal base for commuters thanks to easy access to the M20 and M2, which are around three miles away. Trains from Halling station reach London in little over 45 minutes. The village itself has a Post Office and local shop while Bluewater Shopping Centre is just 13 miles away.

To find out more about Help to Buy, visit St Andrews Park this Saturday (October 11).
