When Dundee City Council decided to expand its fleet of small vans, it looked no further than Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. The Scottish local authority has been so impressed by the performance, durability and running costs of its existing fleet of Caddys that the decision to order another six was a simple one.

The latest delivery of C20 Trendline models takes the City Council’s fleet to almost 50 – all of which are now Volkswagen Caddys. Used by the Council’s construction and plumbing maintenance teams, the new Caddy’s build quality and load capacity offers the council a dependable vehicle for its operations.

In addition to Volkswagen’s innovative BlueMotion Technology – which helps the City Council’s Caddy fleet meet its stringent emissions targets – the vans also have a high standard specification, which includes: cruise control, rear parking sensors, and electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors.

Fraser Crichton at Dundee City Council said: ‘It is vitally important that we invest in the most cost effect fleet we can. We rely on our fleet of vehicles every day and the Caddy delivers excellent durability and reliability, which ensures the whole life cost is kept to a minimum.

‘The Caddy also comes with a three-year warranty and strong aftersales support that includes a like-for-like replacement scheme. This additional support ensures that we are able to keep our maintenance teams on the road even if a problem should occur or when it comes to routine servicing.

‘The Caddy is compact, offers a good payload capacity and works well in the city centre. All of which made it an easy decision to increase the Volkswagen offering in our fleet.’
