As Big Energy Saving Week gets underway (Oct 20-24), Redrow is offering homeowners a quick way of making a smooth graduation to an energy efficient brand new home.

At Scholars’ Gate in Wakefield, the award-winning housebuilder is currently offering part exchange on selected plots, which could mean a smooth, hassle-free and quicker than expected move for those wanting to upgrade to a spacious new home.

And, as the Energy Savings Trust draws attention to its annual campaign, Redrow is keen to make people aware of the energy efficient qualities its new homes enjoy and the potential for fuel bill savings.

Part exchange helps those who are keen to move but would rather avoid dealing with estate agents, finding a buyer and the risk of being delayed by complicated chains. With Redrow effectively acting as a cash buyer, homeowners can move from old to new quickly and simply and without any estate agent’s fees to pay.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), said: “If homeowners have a property that is worth at least 35% less than their chosen Redrow home, the value of the old property can be put towards the cost of buying a brand new one.

“Using part exchange will potentially save them time and money and those who buy and sell in this way could find they’re able to move much sooner than if they wait until they secure a buyer the conventional way.

Current availability at Scholars’ Gate, off Ruskin Avenue, includes a range of three and four-bedroom family homes. They all hail from Redrow’s sought-after New Heritage Collection and marry a traditional Arts and Crafts architectural design with contemporary, 21st century interiors.

“A new home at Scholars’ Gate offers a fabulous balance for families as there’s plenty of space for everyone to spend time together as well as have their own personal space. And there’s no better time to learn how a new home can save you money on your fuel bills, than in Big Energy Saving Week,” Patsy added.

Redrow homes are more energy efficient than older counterparts thanks to the use of high quality insulation materials, low energy boilers and efficient ventilation systems, alongside good quality double glazing and improved air tightness.

One of the energy efficient, detached family homes available at Scholars’ Gate is the ‘Stratford’. Priced at £252,950 it boasts a spacious open plan kitchen / dining room, as well as a separate lounge, so there is plenty of room to relax for all the family. The master bedroom enjoys the luxury of an en-suite shower room and there’s also a ground floor cloakroom.
