A landmark development recently launched by Countryside in N18, is attracting a new wave of young professionals to Edmonton, an area currently undergoing an exciting regeneration. Providing sleek one, two or three bedroom apartments, Silver Point is a striking new development offering lavish living spaces with an urban edge. The challenge of ensuring that the interiors reflect this high standard of living, was accepted by design company Ishoka London.

The starting point for Ishoka was to ensure the apartment interiors reflected the building’s sleek façade and high specification. Every aspect of the design was carefully considered to offer luxurious living in a functional environment but with a real ‘wow’ factor.

A sophisticated palette of creams, taupes and greys serve to create a relaxing environment for busy individuals. According to industry insiders, the colour of 2014 is a harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones - colours that emanate joy, love and health. Ishoka has incorporated this into their scheme, with pops of lilac and purple scattered throughout using soft furnishings such as scatter cushions and throws, ensuring the design in on-trend.

Derek Taylor, Managing Director of Ishoka and Designer on ITV’s 60 Minute Makeover, said: “Our aim was to create a high-end finish that you would expect to find in Central London. Edmonton is a prime location for commuters so the scheme was designed to appeal to the young professional. We considered the Silver Point resident as someone who loves London living and appreciates a classic finish, with high quality furnishings and fittings. This is evident in the finished result, which we feel is one of understated elegance.”

“There is a huge amount of green space in and around Edmonton and we were mindful of this in our design - we wanted to create something organic inspired by the natural world. As design trends are moving away from the use of traditional geometric shapes, this approach was perfect for creating a contemporary feel whilst retaining a classic style. Wallpaper is another huge trend at the moment and one we have incorporated. In the hall, a unique two toned flocking wallpaper gives a soft texture to the walls and statement wallpapers in the living room and bedrooms add a touch of elegance and provide focal points for these spaces.”

“In the living room particularly, design themes of nature and woodland are evident; we have used a cream-based palette throughout, enhancing the airy and calm environment created by the open plan living space, which makes the most of natural light. This is enriched by the carefully selected natural materials - including linens and wools – which are interspersed with quirky cushions and soft furnishings. Luxurious velvets have also been used for cushions and curtains throughout, to add a touch of opulence.”

“Individual touches are found all over the show apartment. In the second bedroom, a textured animal print wallpaper has been used that has taken its influence from the catwalk. A striking mirror in the hallway has been constructed from hundreds of wooden pegs, creating a visually arresting focal point. In the main bedroom, an impressive headboard was created by our own furniture maker using a beautiful fabric from Christian Lacroix, depicting a dramatic display of butterflies. My personal favourite however has to be the impact lighting we have used in the main bedroom, which has dozens of glass icicles in a cascade, creating the illusion of a huge three-dimensional snowdrop. It really is spectacular.”

The Silver Point development is located within a five minute walk of Silver Street station, which provides connections to London Liverpool Street in less than 30 minutes. Each home includes a spacious hallway, generous sized bedrooms, open plan living/dining rooms and fully fitted kitchens with a great range of integrated appliances. Each property has a balcony and some include an additional terrace.

Silver Point enjoys a great location near the unexpected amount of open space in Edmonton, including Pymmes Park with its English garden, tennis courts and picturesque lake, and Lea Valley which forms a 26 mile linear park.

There are a range of shops and market stalls on the doorstep, and the legendary Alexandra Palace is just 22 minutes by bike, with its live music, bars, restaurants, farmer’s market and beautiful 196 acre park. Further afield is lively Stoke Newington and London Fields, both less than 15 minutes away by train.

The Silver Point apartments are now available with prices starting from £218,000 for a one bedroom and £260,000 for a two bedroom apartment. For more information and to register, visit silverpointlondon.com.
