Cottage Lodge – the award-winning small hotel in Brockenhurst in the heart of the New Forest – has just taken delivery of 10 new Raleigh Wayfarer bikes and two Viking Regency Tandems – for the use of guests.

Comments Christina Simons, owner of Cottage Lodge: “We have reduced speed limits in the New Forest because of the wildlife, which makes cycling safer and a great way in which to discover the forest.

“We also have 192km of off-road cycle paths – more than anywhere else in the UK (most of them are actually wide logging trails – and one is just 200 yards from Cottage Lodge.”

The bikes are of differing sizes and the two tandems are adjustable depending on height.

Brockenhurst is an ideal base to explore the forest with places such as Beaulieu and Lyndhurst well within reach by bike – plus many other pubs and restaurants at which to enjoy a well-earned break.

Cottage Lodge is renowned for its green credentials, with much of the property’s furniture hand–crafted from fallen New Forest trees.

The property recently changed status from 5-star B&B to a hotel with the opening of the Fallen Tree restaurant which has already attracted the attention of the Michelin inspectors.

A two-night break including accommodation in a four-poster bed, breakfast and a free hour’s use of a bike or tandem, any time between Sundays and Thursdays from now until March, costs from £89 pp (two sharing).

The offer is subject to availability and not valid during school holidays.

Cottage Lodge also has secure, off road parking and a late check-out time of mid-day.
