A collection of brand new homes at soon to be launched at Sundridge Park in Bromley have been inspired by classical Georgian architecture. The Georgian era is one of the UK's favourite periods of architecture and its leading light was John Nash, who designed the Grade I listed mansion that still stands at Sundridge Park. In this prestigious and historic setting, Millgate Homes is creating a range of new properties that complement the Georgian estate, while offering the best in modern luxury living.

Not only is Sundridge Park home to the beautiful Nash mansion, it sits in an estate and gardens planned by the famous landscape designer Humphrey Repton. With such illustrious Georgian credentials, the designs for the new homes had to fit this unique and historic location. The luxurious properties echo the elegant lines of Georgian architecture, with distinctive features reworked in a contemporary way to create a premium new address with its own character.

Jonathan Cranley, Sales and Marketing Director for Millgate, said: “There is something about the grandeur and grace of Georgian architecture that it frequently tops the polls for the nation’s preferred building style. For those who appreciate Georgian style, there could be no location more special than the unique setting at Sundridge Park. We are proud to be creating new homes that respect this heritage and will stand the test of time, but also offer well designed contemporary spaces with a top end specification.”

Working to a concept by the traditional architects, ADAM Architecture, Millgate is creating a selection of impressive townhouses, spacious apartments and two exclusive detached mansions. These are set in a beautiful and peaceful estate amid 275 acres of landscaped parkland that includes Repton’s Pleasure Gardens, which are being fully restored for residents to enjoy.

The properties are designed with sweeping Georgian style frontages and classical proportions, with soft buff brickwork and white stucco facades that sit harmoniously in the surroundings. The four-storey Tower House, a single residence, is designed as a folly within the Repton picturesque landscape as a reference to his original plans. Both this and the other detached mansion, Wyatt House feature classical style columns, while the rear southern facing façade of the apartments has an open portico of terraces, screened by a colonnade of narrow order columns. In this way, period features are incorporated into the contemporary architecture, with understated detail that respects the nature of the setting.

Architect Robert Adam comments: “This is a great opportunity to create modern homes in the context of a great historical house and its gardens. The discrete and secluded location gives the houses and apartments their own identity while enjoying the benefits of the park and golf club.”

Throughout the scheme, the very best materials are chosen, which Millgate’s master craftsmen carefully hone to a finish that is never less than perfect. This is combined with a top class interior specification and all of the creature comforts to ensure that every home is exceptional.

Approached by a half-mile secluded driveway, arriving at Sundridge Park lets residents retreat into their own tranquil world, where the extensive grounds include large landscaped gardens, individual private gardens and expanses of woodland.

Added to all of this, residents will benefit from the convenient location of Sundridge Park, with transport links from nearby Elmstead Woods offering services into Charing Cross in just over 20 minutes. The M25 motorway, as well as Gatwick, Heathrow and London City airports, are also within easy reach.

Prices start at £695,000 for an apartment and £1.25 million for a townhouse, whilst the two mansions are priced at £3million and £3.25million. Sundridge Park is due to launch formally in May 2015, however Savills are happy to discuss plot specific interest. For more information, visit  email nbutcher[at]savills.com.
