James Blunt rides Monster 1100 around streets of Rome

James Blunt on Monster 1100 A “Roman Holiday” for James Blunt. The popular British singer, who has sold 11 million CDs, recently spent a few days in the Italian capital where he was able to fulfil two life-long ambitions. The singer had often dreamed of running a newspaper and he was given the opportunity to do just that by “Metro” (the international free paper, which has 84 editions published in 23 countries across Europe, North and South America and Asia, with an international readership of more than 20 million). He was made “Editor for a day” of the Rome edition, where he spent the whole day working alongside the editor and staff of Metro Italia, as well as Sakari Pitkanen, the International Manager of Metro International, deciding on the stories and layout of his own special issue.

Yet running a newspaper was not the only dream to come true. The singer-songwriter behind “You’re beautiful” took advantage of his stay in Rome to tour the city, riding a genuine Italian icon, none other than the brand new Ducati Monster 1100 S. The British rock star and avid motorcyclist rode around the streets of Rome with a group of biker friends from Ducati Roma, savouring every delicious moment provided by the new jewel in the crown to be created by the Bologna-based manufacturer.

“The Ducati Monster has always fascinated me – stated Blunt at the end of his ride – and this new version is really gorgeous. I had a lot of fun on the streets of Rome and enjoyed spending an afternoon in the company of some dedicated Ducati fans.”

The new Monster 1100 S features a beautiful new rear swinging arm, cutting edge components and a chassis set-up worthy of its increased power and more distinctly ‘sports’ feel.

Add the even more radical, eye-catching look and you get a bike that goes straight to the top of the Ducati Monster family.
