A commercial success – in more ways than one

14th December 2005 Print
Sales of Vauxhall vans have broken the 50,000 barrier for the first time.

The news comes at the end of an exciting year for Vauxhall’s LCV line-up, which has seen prestigious awards for Combo, Movano and our Conversions range.

Richard Collier, National CV Sales Manager, said: "It has been a great year for Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles and our record sales provide us with a strong platform to help us move into 2006, with some excellent new products in the pipeline."

Supporting Richard’s comments, Commercial Vehicle Brand Manager Steve Bryant added: "This shows that customers have come to recognise our vans for offering versatility and value alongside maximum driver appeal and comfort.

"Already, we’re ahead of 2004’s sales figures, and we haven’t even reached the end of the year yet."

The news comes as Vauxhall also marks a record year of production at GM Manufacturing Luton, where Vivaro vans are built. The plant produces almost 90,000 vans a year, making Vauxhall the biggest van manufacturer in the UK.

The Luton-based manufacturer also leads the market in two key areas, with Combo and Astravan both outselling their closest rivals. Key customers for Vauxhall vans include BT and Royal Mail, among other prestigious brands.
