Vauxhall vans clean up in GreenFleet Awards

Yet another award has been added to Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles’ bulging trophy cabinet, after the Luton-based manufacturer cleaned up at the recent GreenFleet awards.

The prize, which recognises vehicle manufacturers’ efforts at offering both alternative fuels and clean, efficient conventional powerplants, was awarded by GreenFleet magazine in association with Global Live Fleet Monitoring Solutions and Transport for London.

Vauxhall was praised for its long-term commitment to DualFuel LPG models, while the British-built Vauxhall Vivaro was also recognised for its new range of Euro IV-compliant diesel engines.

Presenting the award, GreenFleet Operations Director Jason Devoto said: “Since Vauxhall’s pioneering role in the LPG market over five years ago, both the company and the market have gained pace and it has managed to stay as a market leader.

“DualFuel vehicles are engineered to original equipment quality standards, allowing them to operate smoothly on petrol or LPG at the flick of a switch. Combined with low emissions and the potential to slash fuel bills by up to half, this has made the DualFuel range Britain’s most popular LPG choice.”

The award comes after a bumper year for Vauxhall, which also scooped Professional Van and Light Truck magazine’s coveted ‘Van of the Year’ honour for Vivaro and won the ALD Automotive/Commercial Fleetworld MPG marathon, again with Vivaro.

LPG variants are available in the Combo and New Astravan ranges.
