Coach wins bus!

Coach wins bus! Two amateur football teams in Liverpool will be travelling in style thanks to Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles and talkSPORT radio, following a nail-biting giveaway at the annual CV Show in Birmingham.

And it was amateur player and children’s coach Gary Brookes, 35, who was the lucky winner after three talkSPORT finalists from the radio station’s phone-in show took part in a live penalty shoot-out against the radio station’s sports presenter, Ian Danter.

The Supply Chain Manager from Merseyside, a lifelong fan of Liverpool FC, plays in goal for Liverpool County Premier League team Remyca United, but proved he was just as good in front of goal as he is between the posts by winning the shoot out after it went to sudden death.

Gary, who helps his brother coach a youth football team, was thrilled to be the winner. “This is great news for all of us,” he said. “It means I can go out in the morning with my own team to play adult matches, then in the afternoon we can take the lads out for the children’s games. The bus will be running double shifts all weekend!”

He collected the prize from Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles brand manager, Steve Bryant, who added: “We’re delighted that the minibus is going to a worthy cause such as this – grass roots sport is very much something that Vauxhall is keen to support, and we believe this is reflected by the fact that we’ve run this competition in conjunction with talkSPORT.”

Gary’s prize was a 15-seat Movano minibus – part of Vauxhall’s range of core conversions, which include tipper bodies, dropsides and passenger carrying vehicles, plus a new Luton-bodied Movano that made its debut at the CV Show.

Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles is a key sponsor of talkSPORT’s football coverage, broadcasting live every Saturday afternoon, as well as covering major midweek matches.
