Free financial advice and Help to Buy equity loans will be on offer for Bishop’s Stortford home buyers this weekend (April 22/23).

Award-winning Redrow is selling a choice of one and two-bedroom apartments ‘off plan’ at Regent’s Court in the town.

With Help to Buy equity loans available to reduce the initial cost and the size of deposit needed to secure a property, the apartments are ideal first homes.

To explain more about the Government-backed scheme, Redrow is hosting a special Help to Buy event at Intercounty estate agent’s this weekend (April 22/23). Potential purchasers will be able to speak to independent financial advisors and the sales team about their options..

Kerry McCoubrey, sales director for Redrow Homes (Eastern), says: “Buying your first home can seem daunting - there’s so much to think about from if you’ve saved enough for a deposit, if you’ll meet the criteria for a mortgage, the cost of Stamp Duty and that’s before you start looking for furniture and home essentials. We want to make setting up home simple and straight forward for our customers and so we’re inviting aspiring homeowners to join us at Intercounty estate agents where they will be able to speak to mortgage specialists who can assess their finances and guide them through the buying process.

“For example, buyers may not realise that Help to Buy is exclusive to new build homes and could enable them to buy sooner than they anticipated.”

Two-bedroom apartments at Regent’s Court are available from £324,995 or an initial price of just £259,996 with Help to Buy. The lower price includes a deposit of £16,250 (5%) plus a mortgage for £243,746 (75%). The remaining £64,999 (20%) is covered by the equity loan.

Open plan layouts maximise the potential of the space available in the apartments, with combined kitchen, living and dining rooms.

Kitchens will be complete with integrated top brand name appliances; while bathrooms will feature sleek modern fixtures and fittings. In two-bedroom designs the master bedroom will benefit from an en-suite.

Those who reserve during the event will receive flooring throughout their new home.

All of the apartments have allocated parking and selected properties include Juliet balconies.

Bishop’s Stortford town centre, home to a selection of independent and high street stores including Fat Face, Next, Pandora and upmarket supermarket Waitrose, is less than a 10-minute walk from the apartments.

The train station is also really convenient. Residents could be whisked into London Liverpool Street in just 46 minutes, including walking to the station. The M11 is just 10 minutes away; while the M25 is also close by, offering easy access to Cambridge. For international travel, Stansted Airport is just 13 minutes away by car.
