Time is running out for home-hunters hoping to secure one of the final properties available at Strawberry Fields, Taylor Wimpey’s near sell-out development in Locks Heath near Southampton.

Eager purchasers have been quick to take their pick of the plots in this idyllic location that’s close to the riverside and attractive woodland – with more than 95% of the development now sold out.

However, there are still a couple of two-bedroom ‘Hamble House’ apartments up for grabs – plots 106 and 110, on sale for £211,000 and £214,000 respectively – while the four-bedroom ‘Ashbury’ (plot 115) is ready to move into, priced £345,000.

There’s also a magnificent ‘Ashbury’ showhome (plot 2) for sale, priced £395,000 – including all its stunning furniture, fixtures and fittings!

To make moving even easier and more affordable, each of the remaining properties is available to purchase under the Help to Buy scheme, which allows eligible first-time buyers or those with a property to sell to access a Government loan for up to 20% of their new home’s full price, so they only require a 75% loan-to-value mortgage and a 5% deposit.

Roz Wells, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, says: “We’ve now sold over 95% of the plots at Strawberry Fields and so time is running out to secure one of the final beautiful homes we have left here.
“We don’t expect the remaining properties to be available for long, so potential purchasers should contact us now or face missing out on a brand new property in this wonderful setting altogether!”

The exceptional ‘Ashbury’, for example, offers plenty of living space over three floors, featuring a contemporary kitchen/breakfast room, a living/dining room opening through double doors to the private rear garden and a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

The first-floor landing leads to a double bedroom, a further bedroom that could alternatively be used as a study or playroom and a main bathroom, while two good-sized bedrooms – one boasting en-suite facilities – can be found on the top floor. Outside, the property benefits from a carport and allocated parking.

Strawberry Fields enjoys a peaceful location on the edge of Locks Heath – a site formerly used for strawberry growing, a key industry in the area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The new homes are nestled between an established residential area and fields leading down to the banks of the tidal River Hamble, with its attractive marinas and tranquil shoreline walk along to Southampton Water. Within walking distance is the Lockswood Centre, with a host of amenities for day-to-day living, including shops such as Waitrose, as well as a library, a medical centre and a community centre.

The M27 is just a short drive away for quick links into Southampton and the M3 for those travelling further afield, while nearby Swanwick railway station provides direct services to Southampton, Portsmouth Harbour and London Victoria.

To stand a chance of securing one of the final plots at Strawberry Fields, home-hunters can visit the Sales Information Centre, located off Lockswood Road, Locks Heath, Southampton, SO31 6GD, and open daily between 10am and 5pm (Fridays 1pm to 5pm). Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
