Platinum Skies launch Monterey

Monterey, Christchurch

Taking its name from the magnificent pine within its grounds, Monterey, Christchurch, is a development of 35 one and two bedroom apartments, available for retirees through Platinum Skies’ exclusive part buy part rent scheme.

A unique private retirement provider with Registered Social Landlord status, Platinum Skies’ part-buy, part-rent offers retirees a solution to access more capital in their retirement, enabling purchasers to move proactively rather than reactively.

David Hines, Chief Executive of Platinum Skies comments: “We believe all retirees deserve a high quality lifetime home. Our unique approach to retirement makes owning a home at Monterey truly affordable: low home-purchase price, low costs and most of all no hidden charges- all lifestyle and care services are available on a pay-as-you-use basis.”

Monterey is part of a unique joint venture between Platinum Skies and The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals Foundation Trust. Earlier this year a new care home, Fairmile Grange, and the transformed hospital were opened – creating the country’s first health hub.

Set within private gardens in the leafy grounds of the newly revamped Christchurch hospital, itself a conservation area, the affordable homes at Monterey are just a stroll from the centre of Christchurch, a thriving market town, and within close promixity to both the Dorset coast and New Forest.

The red-brick building echoes the Victorian architecture of the original hospital buildings, with modern touches to maintain a fresh and clean ambience. Many of the apartments feature Juliette balconies, giving the frontage a warm and welcoming feel.

Inside, the large, open-plan properties are built to adapt to resident’s changing needs with flexible layouts, lifts throughout and ample storage- crucial for all downsizers. Interiors are elegant, designed to create a feeling of serenity and wellbeing and generous windows flood the spacious rooms with light. Each apartment has a shaker-style kitchen, fully fitted with integrated appliances and luxury finishes throughout.

Just down the coast from Poole and Bournemouth, with all the natural beauty of seaside Dorset, Christchurch has it all – pretty side streets, listed buildings, galleries, cafes and a dramatic shoreline. The local bus service stops just outside the development and both the train station and bustling high street are within walking distance.

Quality healthcare is immediately accessible, with a new GP surgery and pharmacy on site. Personalised care and support is available through Platinum Skies’ care partner, Agincare.

Prices start from £140,000 for a 50% share of a one bedroom home (FMV - £280,000)

The Monterey show home is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am – 5pm. For more details, visit platinumskies.co.uk.
