New homes at Orchard Place meet the needs of local people

18th February 2018 Print

Feedback from local residents has been used to improve the choice of new homes now on sale at Bellway’s Orchard Place development in Evesham.

Designs included within the second phase of the development have been adapted to better suit the needs of modern family life, while 40 per cent of the new homes have been designated as affordable housing to allow local residents and key workers to live in a new home within their own community.

Planning permission was granted for the overall development by Wychavon District Council in 2014, with 151 new homes being built in phase one – now complete – and a further 250 homes now under construction within phase two.

The housebuilder is also meeting the needs of the local community by making significant financial investment in infrastructure and facilities, including contributions towards education, sports and leisure facilities, public transport, public art and recycling facilities.

Sales Director for Bellway, Jane Yolland, said: “We’ve been committed to meeting the needs of the local community in Evesham for several years now and as part of that have been keen to tailor the designs of our new homes to suit the requirements of local buyers.

“They told us the features they wanted to see in a new home – and we’ve adapted what we offer to reflect their suggestions.

“We’re also delighted to be supporting the wider community with financial contributions made through the planning agreement for the development, as this investment will benefit residents now and for generations to come.”
