Renault Trucks takes on DAF fleet at SWR Specialist Waste Recycling Ltd. (SWR) has taken delivery of two Renault Midlum 240.18s, a Renault Midlum 280.18 and a Renault Premium 240.18, through Renault Trucks distributor MV Trucks. Each chassis has a 26ft double deck body, with a moving second deck and Dell double deck tail lift. The trucks will be used to collect waste, generated by the motor dealership and repair industry, for recycling. They are the first new Renaults to join a predominantly DAF fleet.

Mark Hammett, Fleet and Compliance Manager, SWR, says: “Although SWR is a young company, it is growing very fast. Renault Trucks and MV Trucks were able to supply the new vehicles swiftly and efficiently to meet our demands. We have previously been an all DAF fleet but have had a Renault Premium on contract hire for the past year. The Premium has performed very well and based on our positive experience of both the vehicle and the support received, we are looking forward to increasing our fleet of Renaults in the future.”

The company is looking to open new depots in the Bristol, Glasgow and Stoke-on-Trent areas and is already in talks with MV Trucks about obtaining more Renault trucks. “We will be looking for continuity across our fleet as we continue to expand,” explains Mark Hammett. “With depots planned across the UK, we were attracted by the cohesive nature of the Renault Trucks network and are looking at future purchases of both new and used vehicles from Renault Trucks.”

Established in June 2007, SWR is the only firm in the UK dedicated to recycling waste generated by the motor dealership and repair industries. The company makes regular collections of waste such as bumpers, batteries, metals, plastic, paper, cardboard, tyres and wood. Based in Alton, Hampshire, SWR currently has four depots servicing a platform of 210 workshop clients with a fleet of 15 trucks.
