Family Investments welcomes CTF podcast from HMRC

Family Investments, the UK's leading Child Trust Fund (CTF) provider with more than half a million accounts, has welcomed the launch of HM Revenue & Customs' (HMRC) new CTF podcast.

The podcast is the latest initiative from the Government to provide additional guidance on CTFs to parents and follows its recent announcement that online applications for CTFs will be introduced in 2009 - a move that Family Investments lobbied strongly for.

Miles Bingham, Head of Savings and Investments at Family Investments, said: "Family Investments is pleased that the Government is taking continual steps to harness internet technology in order to inform and educate families about the Child Trust Fund.

At Family Investments, we have taken use of the internet a step further - last month we launched a unique online account management facility for all our customers, called Online Wizard.

"The ability to research financial products and access accounts online is becoming more and more essential for busy parents. Online Wizard enables parents to monitor their child's CTF and manage many aspects of the account. When their child is older, Online Wizard can even be used to teach children about the value of saving regularly by predicting what the final value of the fund could be."
