New homes in winning city of Edinburgh Edinburgh has raced to the top of the property ladder and, according to a national survey, has been voted best place to live in the UK - but Redrow Homes already knew this. Contributing to this captivating city’s living appeal is the award-winning house builder’s Optima development of apartments, townhouses and villas, in Ferry Road.

Offering buyers the chance to live in a stylish, contemporary home close to the city centre but more importantly without the city centre prices - Optima is a desirable dwelling suitable for all.

The 2007 ‘Official Best Place to Live In The UK’ survey, commissioned by Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location programme, looked at all 434 UK local authorities which were judged using a set criteria. Considering what would be most important to house buyers, statistics for crime, education, employment, environment, lifestyle and health for each town were analysed, with Edinburgh coming out top dog!

Diana Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (Scotland) says: “Edinburgh winning this survey is really not surprising considering what the city has to offer house buyers with its cosmopolitan atmosphere and diverse culture.

“Redrow takes great care when deciding where to build to ensure that our homes have the potential to meet all buyers’ requirements and much more. Being based on the edge of Edinburgh centre means home owners at Optima get more for their money, but the easy access to the city centre by car or public transport still means that city lovers have all of the essential amenities on their doorstep. They get the best of both worlds.”

Optima comprises two-bedroom apartments, three-bedroom townhouses and villas and four-bedroom split level apartments, just four miles from the city centre.

Spacious and stylish two-bedroom apartments are currently available from just £151,000, which demonstrates great value for money for such a fantastic location. And, on selected purchases for a limited period only, Redrow will even pay £500 per calendar month towards the mortgage until 2010, making home ownership more affordable and easier to achieve.

Optima is perfect for first time buyers, investors, professional couples, friends sharing to get onto the property ladder and even families in the larger properties.
