Back to her roots with Redrow

Back to her roots with Redrow When a job change prompted a move back to her home country of Wales, Sue Williams decided to go back to the place where she’d first got on the property ladder. She plumped for Redrow’s Coed Castell development in Brackla, Bridgend, close to where she had bought her first home years previously and within easy access of the M4 to get to her job as a bank manager in Cardiff. This time round Sue bought in style – opting for a spacious four-bedroom Ouse home.

Sue, 41, who moved back to Wales having lived in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, was pointed in the direction of the development by her sister Alison, who spotted Coed Castell and thought it would be perfect. A weekend trip later and Sue agreed.

She says: “The Ouse home was suggested to me by one of the Redrow staff. It had a good sized kitchen, which was what I was really after, a garage and many of the other things I’d wanted for my new home. The fact that it was a new-build home was perfect for me too, because it meant that I could move in quicker – no waiting around for someone to move out – and no renovations or repairs. It was such a big change with my job that I wanted my move to be as painless as possible and it was.

“I’ve got lots of friends from all over the country because of my job, so it’s nice to have a home big enough to entertain them and for them to stay over in. I’ve always wanted a home where I could entertain people and this is just perfect for that.”

This stylish development of 192 new homes in Coychurch Road, Brackla, is close to Bridgend town centre and offers quick access to the M4, putting it in a convenient location for commuters like Sue.

Sue continues: “Everything is going fantastic in the new house. I’ve settled nicely and the Redrow staff still pop over to say ‘hi’ and make sure everything’s ok for me. I couldn’t ask for any more from them – they were great before the move and they’ve kept up the same level of customer service since I’ve been here. It’s nice to see that they care and they’re not a company who lose interest once they’ve got the sale – they actually want the customer to have a good experience.

“I spend a lot of time in the house – with my family and cat, cooking and playing on my computer, and I’ve turned the fourth bedroom into a little haven where I can chill out away from the rest of the house and it also acts as a study and office.”

The location is great for Sue, as Brackla offers pubs and leisure facilities, whilst a short journey into Bridgend offers a range of amenities – including shops, restaurants and pub. The village is also only three miles from the fantastic McArthur Glen retail shopping outlet.

Coed Castell features a range of apartments and houses, currently priced from £136,995 for a two-bedroom apartment up to £218,950 for a four-bedroom detached Ouse, similar to the home Sue chose, which has spacious accommodation arranged over three floors.
