A couple buying a house in Glamorgan lived the dream of many home owners when they moved into a beautiful ready-decorated show home. Richard Bowmer and his partner Alison Roblin fell in love with the stunning décor of the Redrow show home at Coed Castell, in Brackla, and decided they wanted to move in straight away.

Richard, 42, said: “We’d looked at a few different properties but when Alison and my daughter Cerys, 12, saw this one I knew we weren’t moving anywhere else.

“The décor is very bright and colourful and probably a lot braver than anything I would have chosen but now I think it’s fantastic.”

It is the first home Richard, an NHS accountant, and Alison, 34, who also works for the NHS, have bought together and suited them perfectly because of their busy lives.

He said: “We were relocating from Pembrokeshire to Bridgend with my work and we decided to buy a new build because we knew it would be easy to maintain.

“I’m very busy at work and my daughter comes to stay at weekends so we didn’t have the time to spend doing up an old house.

“It’s a bonus that we went for a show home because it’s already got brilliant wall paper, and very good quality light fittings, curtains and carpets already fitted. We didn’t keep a lot of the furniture as we already had our own but we kept some quality paintings and mirrors for the walls.

“We went for a four-bedroom home as it gives us extra space to have visitors to stay, which we have quite regularly because we have relocated and are away from many of our friends and family. And the beautifully landscaped garden is the perfect location for summer BBQs and entertaining those family and friends.”
