SAS increases traffic to US

In response to increased demand and a desire to offer its customers more flexible solutions, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will increase its traffic between Copenhagen and New York with an additional service from May 20th, 2007.

"We are keen to offer our customers greater flexibility and respond to the needs from the business and tourism sectors. There is growing demand on our routes to and from the US and, in particular, New York. The new service is an evening departure, which we know is very popular, especially among our business travelers," says Lars Sandahl, Chief Commercial Officer, Scandinavian Airlines International

From May 20th, 2007, another flight connection will be offered between Copenhagen and New York in addition to SAS already extensive traffic to the US. SAS will now increase its flights to New York periodically, with the addition of a convenient evening departure.

The new service will operate four times a week until August 31st, 2007, offering customers an evening departure from Newark at 23.25, with arrival in Copenhagen at 13.15 and departure from Copenhagen at 18.35, arriving at Newark at 21.05.

"This means you can fly to New York for dinner and making it possible to plan an entire day of work prior to the comfortable flight to New York or fly to Scandinavia after an evening out in New York," says Lars Sandahl

SAS customers will have access to the very best comfort with the newly configured three class Airbus 340 equipped with SAS's comfortable seats, and new SAS Business Sleepers, throughout Business Class.

To create as flexible travel as possible, customers on all SAS intercontinental flights can select between traveling Business Class, Economy Extra or Economy Class. The cabin for Economy Extra is separated from the rest of Economy, the seats are broader and passengers have more legroom. Tickets in this class can be combined with other ticket types, such as Business Class, and the security check is faster because of the Fast Track procedure. The system of three classes creates freedom of choice by which outbound and inbound travel can be made in different service classes depending on the customer's individual needs.

This is not the only expansion of services from SAS International. From March 25 th 2007, SAS will also introduce a new non-stop service between Stockholm and Beijing. Scandinavian Airlines International.
