Hiltl vegetarian cuisine gets on board with SWISS

26th May 2009 Print
SWISS and the renowned Hiltl vegetarian restaurant are forming a long-term partnership: as of 27 May SWISS passengers in all three classes will be able to enjoy meatless dishes created by Rolf Hiltl and his team.

SWISS and Restaurant Hiltl are teaming up under the SWISS Taste of Switzerland culinary concept. This partnership unites two strong Swiss brands with a reputation for quality, innovation and Swiss hospitality. Further, both companies put the spotlight on their customers’ experience – which makes for a promising starting point.

Thanks to this new partnership, SWISS passengers in all classes of travel will soon be able to savour creatively prepared meatless meals. Spinach tagliatelle with artichoke and saffron feta sauce, and vegetable paella with eggplant and red paprika are just two of many examples. The delicious and varied Hiltl vegetarian creations will be complemented by menus created by the designated SWISS Taste of Switzerland guest chef. The Hiltl dishes are an ideal complement to the SWISS Taste of Switzerland culinary concept, which was introduced in 2002 and is a previous winner of the Mercury Award.

The story of the longstanding Hiltl brand began in Zurich in 1898, when the company opened the first vegetarian restaurant in Europe. Now known beyond Switzerland’s borders as a gourmet temple, the family-owned Hiltl company is today run by the fourth generation of family members.

The healthy and contemporary flavourful meals will make their debut on SWISS flights from Switzerland on 27 May.
