Get your laughs at the Londa Hotel, Cyprus

Shazia Mirza, on Britain’s top female comedians, will be performing exclusively at the Londa Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus for one night only on Saturday 30 May. This will be Shazia’s second visit to this award-winning hotel. Last spring Shazia’s night at the Londa was an immediate sell-out and demand for tickets is again expected to be high.

Tickets cost €10.00 and all proceeds will be donated to the Cyprus Anticancer Society, anticancersociety.org.cy. The show starts at 8.30 pm in the Alpha Omega Ballroom.

Shazia is among a host of female comics that have performed at the Londa over the last three years featuring top British comedy talent from leading promoters of female comedy, Funny Women. The Londa hosts comedy acts as part of its entertainment for guests and local clientele.

Shazia appears regularly on TV, radio, and fills venues with her own brand of incisive wit and observational humour. Drawing on her Asian background (she was born in Birmingham in England) and hilarious life experiences she has developed a popular following across the UK and abroad. She also writes a regular column in the New Statesman (Britain’s successful current affairs magazine) and last year was awarded Winner Columnist of the Year PPA Awards 2008.

The event will be kindly supported by M.Y. Bunkers, a Limassol based marine fuel services company that provides unique fuel management services to the international shipping industry.

Funny Women runs the UK’s only dedicated new talent competition for female comedy talent and is now in its 7th year. Their awards have become a platform for launching the careers of a great number of artistes. This will be the fourth year that the Londa will partner Funny Women in their awards competition, providing the winner with a prize of a week’s luxury holiday for two at this 5 star boutique hotel in Limassol. All Funny Women events aim to raise money and awareness for causes that affect women.
