Aer Lingus' in-flight magazine, Cara, was awarded the prestigious Customer Magazine of the Year 2008 award, by the PPAI, at a ceremony in the Four Seasons hotel this month. Maxmedia, contract publishers for Cara, scooped the accolade against strong competition.

Cara was awarded for its polished, smart image whilst meeting the Aer Lingus customer needs. It was also commended for slick design and effective use of the airline's branding.

Commenting on its success, Aer Lingus Corporate Affairs Director, Enda Corneille said, "We are absolutely delighted by the recognition afforded by this prestigious award. It is a reflection of the innovation and quality of the magazine and recognises the commitment and excellence of the Maxmedia team. The refreshed new look Cara has gone from strength to strength over the past year. The Aer Lingus brand resonates with customers throughout the world, with Cara as a synonymous part of Aer Lingus' on board offering. We are delighted to provide our customers with this high quality product for their enjoyment."

Accepting the award Maxmedia M.D, Lisa Gaughren said, "We are thrilled that the passion, hard work and dedication of the Cara team and its talented range of contributors have been recognised by our peers in the industry. It is only through our close working relationship with Aer Lingus that we have been able to publish a magazine that stays in sync with the needs of the client, as well as being a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read for the airline's passengers."

Cara magazine was first published in January 1968. Cara is a high quality travel and lifestyle magazine, which is published eight times yearly and distributed on board all Aer Lingus flights to the UK, Europe and USA to an audience of over 10 million passengers.
