New Club World - A complete experience

2nd February 2009 Print
British Airway’s new Club World is more than a cabin in the aircraft. It is a whole experience from the moment a customer decides to fly with British Airways to the moment they arrive at their destination.

Beginning with ba.com
Customers can book online at ba.com using the simple fare-led selling calendar, also choosing hotels, car hire and insurance at a few clicks of mouse.

Before they fly they can use the 'manage my booking' tool on the site, allowing them to insert any advanced passenger information, select a seat, a special meal, print or email their itinerary or manage their Executive Club account.

Within 24-hours of the flight, our customers can check-in online and print their boarding pass, ready to pass smoothly through the airport.

At the airport
Customers who have checked-in online, or used a self-service kiosk, can simply leave any luggage at the 'Fast Bag Drop' desk at the airport and make their way to the British Airways lounge.

There they can enjoy a treatment in the Elemis Travel Spa, catch up on some work in the Combiz centre, take advantage of the pre-flight dining should they wish to work or sleep as soon as they board the aircraft, or simply relax with a drink from the bar.
Club World customers will then be called for priority boarding.

On-board
The new cabin has been designed entirely with the needs of the customer in mind and developed based on extensive research.

The bed is wider and more comfortable and for the first time has a 'z' bed position which supports the knees and the back and is perfect for lounging, working or watching the in-flight entertainment. The bed will increase from six feet to six feet and six inches when in the 'z' position.

The seat has a new privacy screen which, thanks to innovative technology, appears opaque to those sat next to it but clear to cabin crew stood in the aisles allowing them to ensure that customers are looked after.

The larger table makes it easier for customers to work and the laptop connection point no longer requires an adaptor.

There is a 'Laptop Locker' underneath the seat next to each customer for them to store computers, shoes or a handbag.

The cabin even more flexible - customers can choose whether to have the full meal service or help themselves to the new Club Kitchen snacks in between should they want to work, sleep, relax or watch the in-flight entertainment.

On arrival
Customers can take advantage of the arrivals lounges to take a shower, have a meal, enjoy a treatment at the Elemis Travel Spa or catch up on some work in the business area before leaving relaxed, refreshed and ready to face the day ahead.
