BA to sell off Boeing 757 fleet

21st April 2009 Print
British Airways is to sell 11 of its 15 Boeing 757 aircraft for cargo conversion with the aircraft leaving the airline's mainline fleet between 2010-2012. Four Boeing 757s operated by the airline's subsidiary OpenSkies will remain in the fleet.

The Boeing 757s will be replaced in the airline's shorthaul fleet by Airbus A320 family aircraft.

Robert Boyle, British Airways' director of strategy and business units, said: "Replacing the Boeing 757s will give us both environmental and cost benefits."
