The full programme is available as a printed brochure, as well as to read online via Balesworldwide.com.

NEW LA PINTA CRUISE

2008 marks the introduction of a new flagship to the Galapagos with La Pinta starting operation from March 2008. The vessel is an elegant 63 metre yacht which accommodates 48 passengers with plush outside cabins, large picture windows and the highest levels of service. The spacious public areas on the Boat Deck include a well stocked library, Sky Bar, Jacuzzi and exercise room. Bales will offer weekly departures on the seven day La Pinta cruise as part of a 13 night holiday priced from £3995.

In addition, a special Bales charter onboard the vessel takes places on 28th October 2008 which will be escorted by a member of the Bales family as well as the distinguished naturalist Greg Estes, a leading light in the protection of the Galapagos marine environment and is priced at £4175 for the 14 day holiday.

MEXICO AND CUBA OPTIONS

Bales returns to Mexico and Cuba with a wide range of tailor-made and escorted journey choices. For example, the 13 day holiday, Pearl of the Antilles, to Cuba is a fascinating trip taking in the capital Havana, Pinar del Rio, Vinales, Santiago de Cuba, Camaguey, the colonial town of Trinidad, Cienfuegos and Jibacoa Beach and is priced from £1995 per person.

Alternatively a 12 day holiday to Baja California explores the west of Mexico and includes a seven night cruise on an expedition vessel to explore the Sea of Cortes and its 900 islands. Priced from £2895 per person the trip operates during January and February to view the hundreds of grey whales and dolphins.

ANTARCTICA CRUISE EXPANSION

2008 sees Bales almost double its Antarctica cruising options offering six different cruising itineraries featuring the new MS Fram, the MS Nordnorge, the MV Antarctic Dream and the MV Grigoriy Mikheev. The latter vessel is used as part of a new 12 day Antarctic Air-Cruise priced from £6395 per person. This is perfect for those with less stable sea legs not wanting to sail across the Drake Passage, with a flight from Punta Arenas to Antarctica taking just three hours.

The 14 day Antarctic Discovery trip is priced from £4275 per person and includes an eight day cruise on board the MS Fram taking in Ushuaia, Drake Passage, South Shetland Islands, Antarctic Peninsula and Cape Horn.

ANDEAN EXPLORER

The new 18 day Andean Explorer provides an epic journey through Peru, Bolivia and Chile and is priced at £3825 per person. Highlights include Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, a stay in the unique Luna Salada Lodge which is built predominantly from salt and overlooks the white desert of the Solar de Uyani and the journey to San Pedro de Atacama through multi-coloured mountains, cone-shaped volcanoes, bizarre wind-sculptured stone formations and colourful lagoons.

COLOMBIA HOLIDAY

Bales now feels it is the right time to promote Colombia as a stand alone holiday destination for 2008 with a new nine day holiday, Return to Colombia, visiting the capital Bogota, Villa de Leyva and Cartagena priced from £2055 per person. In addition, tailor made options include the Hay Cartagena Festival which is twinned with the world famous Hay–on-Wye literary festival in the UK.
