bmibaby announces new route from Jersey Airport

bmibaby, has today (9 December 2009) announced a new route from Jersey to Bournemouth Airport. The summer service to Bournemouth will commence on 29 March 2010, with flights departing on Monday, Friday and Saturday.

The airline expects to carry over 24,000 passengers on the new route over the summer months. bmibaby is currently the only low cost carrier to operate flights from Jersey to Bournemouth. Prices on the new route start from just £19.99, one way including taxes and charges. The airline also operates services from Jersey to Cardiff, Manchester and East Midlands Airport.

Senator Paul Routier, Assistant Minister for Economic Development, who has specific responsibility for Jersey Airport, said:

The decision to operate a low cost service from Bournemouth alongside their three other established routes demonstrates their commitment to the Island and will offer travellers in both directions an alternative service to the south coast of England."
