More travel choice for single parent families

8th January 2010 Print

2010 sees the launch of Holidaysforsingleparents.com - a new concept from an established team - Friendship Travel - which has been arranging holidays for single adults for 12 years.

Friendship Travel has now created child-friendly holidays for single parents, using all their experience of hosting house parties and creating a friendly and fun atmosphere at hand-picked hotels.

Locations on offer – during school holiday periods – include the Caribbean, Turkey, Rhodes, the Red Sea and the Canaries, plus winter skiing in France – and most of the featured hotels have excellent children’s clubs.

The company’s exclusive house party properties do not have children’s clubs, but the hotel grounds and pool areas are very suitable for youngsters to relax and have fun on their holiday.

In Turkey, for example, the company has exclusive use of the family-run ‘small and friendly’ Hotel Era in the small resort of Ovacik for seven night holidays from 16 August.   This two-star hotel does not operate a children’s club, but as guests have the hotel to themselves, children have – within reason – the run of the hotel and the spacious pool area, though their supervision remains with the parent.

A seven-night holiday, departing on the above date, costs £745 per adult, with up to two children (aged between two-15 years and sharing with parent) paying £535 each inclusive of return Gatwick flights, transfers, all-inclusive accommodation and services of a holidaysforsingleparents.com host.

Other options include the five-star Cotton Bay Village in St Lucia – a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group and a perfect choice for a relaxing break with children.

This luxury, gated village offers a wealth of facilities for the parent and child including hip and elegant bars, restaurants and a superb spa, plus complimentary clubs for children of all ages.

As an example of price, a seven-night holiday in July or August costs £2495 per adult and £770 per child (up to the age of 15 years) inclusive of return Gatwick flights, transfers, half-board (with wine at dinner for adults) in a luxurious two-bedroom ‘Calabash’ suite and the services of a local host. Guests also enjoy the use of a nanny for two hours on one evening, a welcoming Beach Club cocktail party, a group island tour and barbeque.
