Lovell-built Maes Ifor homes commended for quality

The high standards of construction at the Maes Ifor development built by Cardiff-based housing developer Lovell at Taffs Well, north of Cardiff, have been recognised by success at Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Building Control Quality Awards.

The 47-home first phase of the development was praised for reaching the ‘Highly Commended’ standard of excellence. All homes built in the first phase of the scheme have now been snapped up.

Lovell is currently building the second phase of the Maes Ifor development – 20 new two- and three-bedroom houses with a number set to be released for sale later this month. Homes available will include the popular Weston two-bedroom and three-bedroom Moreton house styles. Six of the new homes in Phase 2 will be for sale through Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Homestep low-cost home ownership initiative.

At the annual Building Control Quality Awards, held at the Rhondda Heritage Park Hotel, Trehafod, Lovell was presented with a certificate to mark the high standard of design and construction achieved at the Maes Ifor development.

“It is very satisfying to have the hard work and dedication of our site manager Carl Brewster and his team at Maes Ifor highlighted by the Building Control Quality Awards,” says Lovell regional director Nick Kurobasa. “The excellent quality and workmanship demonstrated during construction together with the attractive design of the development has certainly been reflected in customer demand, with all homes built on the first phase now sold.”

In addition to attractive, well-designed homes, Maes Ifor offers a superb village location which is only five miles from the heart of Cardiff. The city centre is just a 15-minute journey by car. Alternatively, take the 15-20 train journey from Taffs Well station which is only a short walk away from the housing development. The development is off junction 32 of the M4 and therefore ideal for commuting.
