Leading Dorset house builder Barratt is inviting you to a Caribbean extravaganza this weekend at its Honeycombe Beach development as part of the celebrations of the first surf competition at Europe’s first artificial surf reef.

The Beach Apres Surf Party from 2pm – 5pm on Saturday 20th March will play host to steel band Hurricane Force and offer a feast of Caribbean themed surf and turf food including rice, salads, steak sandwiches, fish and delicious marinated meats.

A cocktail bar complete with a trick-performing waiter will offer an array of cocktails including Barratt’s very own ‘Honeycombe Spray’.

Barratt sales director Mark Docherty said: “It’s fantastic the reef is already hosting competitions, we are so excited that Honeycombe, its residents and visitors can join in with the celebrations and have a really fun day out.”

Honeycombe Beach overlooks the stunning Boscombe beach and the surf reef, with the sea front’s Sorted Surf Shop playing an integral part in organising the first competition at the reef with main sponsor Rip Curl.

The Sorted Surf Contest and Festival for surfers and bodyboarders will take place over Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st teamed with activities and demonstrations stands will have equipment for anyone to try.

The contest categories will consist of a Mens Open, Mens 35+, Ladies Open, and Groms (under 18’s). It will also host the first leg of the British Bodyboarding Annual Championships.

Visit the Sorted Surf Shop on Sea Road, Boscombe for your contest entry form or visit: sortedsurfshop.com
