Direct Line motoring app for iPhone

28th April 2010 Print

Direct Line has announced its free "On the Road" App for iPhone is now available on the App Store. The app includes a route planner and live traffic updates to help plan journeys around traffic. It also features an easy to use ‘help for accidents and claims’ tool, should the worst happen.

This function enables motorists to immediately record and store key information, such as the other motorist’s car insurance and vehicle details – including photos of any damage – on their iPhone in a simple step-by-step notebook at the scene of an accident. Direct Line customers can then send the details straight through to the Direct Line claims team to help get the insurance process moving.

Jennifer Thomas, spokesperson for Direct Line, commented: “Our new app for iPhone is designed to make the driving experience stress-free by helping users avoid the traffic jams and accidents. Should the worst happen, it also helps to make the claims process as simple as possible. With the easy look-up feature and ability to quickly share details with other drivers, users have the peace of mind that comes with knowing they’re a driver who’s prepared for anything.”

The Direct Line App features include:

Live traffic updates to minimise disruption on a journey.

Route Planner to help find the quickest and easiest routes from A to B

‘Remind Me’ service so users don't forget important dates, such as car insurance renewal date, MOTs and road tax renewals.

Record Incident details: this tool guides users through a quick and easy process to capture key information for personal records.

‘Rescue Me’ – helps pinpoint location with GPS so users can call for help in a breakdown knowing exactly where they are.

Torch screen so users won’t be left in the dark.

Fast insurance quotes to protect your car or even your home, family, pets and more.
