RIAS launches Broken Bones Cash Plan

30th April 2010 Print

Over 50s specialist insurance provider RIAS has launched a new personal accident product, the RIAS Broken Bones Cash Plan.

The RIAS Broken Bones Cash Plan provides customers with a lump sum payment of £400 if they break a bone in an accident, has no upper age limit and is available to new and current RIAS Home Insurance customers as an additional cover option. The plan can be taken out for an individual or to cover a couple.

For a premium of just £15.96 a year per person, or £1.33 a month, the cover provides a £400 cash payment, which can be used for anything at all, for example, help with travel costs if the customer is unable to drive.

With over 7.7m UK men and women expected to suffer a bone fracture after the age of 501, the RIAS Broken Bones Cash Plan offers the following key benefits:

No excess payable;
No medical required;
No limit to the amount of new claims that can be made during the policy.

Janet Connor, Managing Director at RIAS comments: "Our Broken Bones Cash Plan is a welcome addition to our extensive product range, enabling us to offer high quality, value for money cover, protecting what's important to our customers.

"With fractures and breaks a common occurrence amongst people over 50, the RIAS Broken Bones Cash Plan will provide a welcome financial relief in the event of an injury. And with no excess, age limits or exclusions on the number of new claims a customer can make during the policy term, our plan ensures that they're covered when they need help most."

The launch of the latest Home Insurance additional cover option follows the recent triple accolade RIAS received at the 2010 thisismoney.co.uk Awards where the specialist insurance provider was named the ‘Most Trusted Home Insurance Provider', the ‘Best Home Insurance Provider for Customer Service', and the ‘Best Overall Home Insurance Provider'.

The Broken Bones Cash Plan is just one of the cover options in the successful additional covers range provided by RIAS. Customers can tailor their home insurance policies to their exact needs and requirements, and give themselves cover and reassurance by choosing to add Home Emergency (£66), Garden Secure (£32), Personal Legal Protection (£21), or Key Protection (£18) to their policy, whilst also enjoying the following features and benefits as standard:

Up to £50,000 contents cover as standard (can be increased up to £100,000).

New-for-old replacement on damaged or stolen items (excluding clothing and household linens).
