Simplyhealth relaunches dental plan

10th May 2010 Print

To better reflect the changing face of dentistry, Simplyhealth is relaunching its consumer dental plan.

The new plan has been simplified and focuses more on a preventative approach. This is to bring it in line with customer need and encourage repeat visits to the dentist rather than those only made when treatment is required.

Raman Sankaran, spokesperson for Simplyhealth, says: "Following the recommendations made by Professor Steele in the Government's Dentistry Review, and our own research of customers and dentists, we've made some simple revisions to our dental plan so that it is clearer and more relevant. We've put the emphasis on long term care by providing additional cover for check-ups and scale and polish to help individuals maintain good oral health.

"Recently our Annual Dental Survey 2010 found that 43% of people have put off going to the dentist due to cost. We want to help take away the financial bother of visiting the dentist. That's why our new Simply Dental Plan has four premium levels rather than two which we believe will enable customers to better match their level of cover with their budget and dental claiming needs."

From just £7.50 a month, the Simply Dental Plan is perfect for both NHS and private access and includes cover for check-ups, treatment and emergencies. It now also offers dental hospital cover which means that customers are entitled to £50 per day or night should they have to spend time in hospital following a referral from their dentist.
