Hendy Honda combined two wheels with four in Portsmouth this week as part of its support of the Halford Tour Series.

Some of the UK’s leading cycle teams were in the city as part of the national series – including World and Olympic champion Ed Clancy who took time out before the race to meet the Hendy Honda team.

World Champion cyclist and ambassador for Honda, Ed Clancy, is competing in the series as part of the front running Motorpoint Marshalls Pasta team. Motoring enthusiast Ed is also driving to each race of the 11 city centre races in a new Championship White Civic Type R.

While the sporting action concentrated on two wheels the event also provided an opportunity for Hendy Honda to showcase the brand new Honda CR-Z, the world’s first sporty hybrid.

Hendy Honda general manager Nick Edwards said the evening race was a great chance for the city to see tremendous high speed cycling – and the brand new model from Honda.

“The new CR-Z has been attracting plenty of attention during its launch and having the car as part of the Halfords Cycle Series has given even more people the opportunity to see the car,’’ said Nick.
