Love parks? You'll love Park Plaza

Throughout Love Parks Week (24th July - 1st August), Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts will be giving away free footballs* to encourage guests to make the most of London’s fabulous open spaces.

Five of Park Plaza’s London properties are participating and hope that the combination of a dry, warm summer plus free footballs, will encourage more guests to visit one of the many parks that make London one of the greenest capitals in the world.

With Regents Park boasting the largest outdoor sports area in central London, this would be the perfect place for a kick-about whilst staying at the Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes (parkplazasherlockholmes.com). Located on Baker Street, the stylish four-star boutique hotel is only a five-minute walk to the park, also home to the open air theatre, the London Zoo and a variety of cafes at your leisure. Complete your day with a drink at the hotel’s stylish Sherlock’s Bar and dinner at its AA-rosette winning restaurant.

For those who prefer a more intimate park experience then treat yourself to a stay at the deluxe Park Plaza Riverbank London (parkplazariverbank.com) or the all-suite hotel, Plaza on the River (plazaontheriver.co.uk), just a short walk from Kennington Park. Home to beautiful wildlife, open spaces and a wide range of sports facilities, Kennington Park’s the perfect location to practice your ball skills. After working up an appetite kick back and enjoy the fantastic Asian fusion food of the hotel’s award-winning restaurant, Chino Latino.

Only a short stroll to both the largest and most popular park in London, Hyde Park, the four-star Park Plaza Victoria (parkplaza.com/londonuk_victoria) is the ideal post-park retreat. The stunning Serpentine Lake and plenty of open space guarantees that this hotel is within kicking distance from one of London’s finest historic landscapes. For an after-game drink look no further than JB’s Bar with its extensive cocktail list.

At the four-star Park Plaza County Hall (parkplazacountyhall.com), you can mix your team game with tradition by heading to St James’s Park, just a short walk over the Thames and past Big Ben. The oldest Royal Park in London, St James’s is spectacularly pretty and Buckingham Palace offers a unique backdrop to any ball game. Back at the hotel, ease those aching muscles in the hotel’s sauna and steam room or wind down with a drink at the stylish Spectrum bar.

*The footballs will be given to guests staying at any of the five participating hotels during Love Parks Week, 24th July – 1st August. The footballs will be available upon request at check-in.
