Shakira’s Seat-sponsored European tour hits UK

Colombian pop superstar Shakira’s thrilling European tour, sponsored by SEAT, comes to the UK today for the first in a series of live gigs across the country.

The Sun Comes Out tour, sponsored by the Barcelona-based car maker, makes its way to the UK with the first date set for the MEN Arena in Manchester tonight (14 December).  This is followed by the Odyssey Arena Belfast on Friday (17 Dec); the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow on Sunday (19 Dec) and London’s O2 Arena on Monday 20 December.

As part of the promotional package around the tour the Spanish firm has developed the ‘Good Stuff’ campaign featuring the SEAT Ibiza and Shakira, and including the special edition Ibiza Good Stuff.

Based on the popular Ibiza 1.4 SE, the car’s available in either practical 5dr or sporty SC bodystyles, and whichever one is chosen buyers will enjoy a sparkling array of neat extras as standard.

Priced from £12,424 RRP the Ibiza Good Stuff adds a great selection of state-of-the-art extras to its already generous roster of standard-fit kit including a TomTom satnav system and unique SEAT dashboard dock and cradle.  Other goodies exclusive to the Good Stuff include a black iPod Nano 8GB, iPod docking station and Bluetooth hands-free phone system.

On top of this the Good Stuff keeps its occupants as cool as they look thanks to the special edition’s climate control system.

Of course there’s much more to the car as the extras add to the Ibiza’s already generous SE spec which includes, as standard, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, front fog lights with cornering function, one-touch electric windows, height and reach adjustable steering wheel, six-speaker MP3 compatible AM/FM radio/CD player with combined USB and AUX-in port, trip computer and speed-sensitive electro-mechanical power steering.

Smart 16-inch ‘Sonda’ alloy wheels, dark tinted rear windows and bespoke boot badging complete the Good Stuff goodies.

Beneath the bonnet lies an EU V-compliant 1.4-litre 16V petrol engine driving the front wheels through a crisp five-speed manual gearbox.  Offering 85 PS at 5,000 rpm, the engine carries the SEAT from rest to 62 mph in a sprightly 11.8 seconds (12.2 seconds 5dr) and offers a top speed, where legal, of 110 mph (109 mph 5dr).  CO2 emissions stand at 142 g/km and, on the combined cycle, the Ibiza Good Stuff’s official consumption is put at a frugal 47.1 mpg.

The car’s name is taken from one of the tracks on Shakira’s latest album, She Wolf, and reflects SEAT’s ongoing association with the Colombian singer.

The collaboration unites the Spanish brand with one of the world’s most successful pop acts. SEAT’s sponsorship of the tour, which also coincides with the company’s 60th anniversary – and its 25th anniversary in the UK – again uses music to establish a direct connection with the brand’s target audience.

Steve Robertson, Head of Marketing at SEAT UK, said: ‘Shakira’s UK concerts are sure to be a huge hit, and SEAT is very happy to once again be associated with this international superstar’s European tour.’
