Adventure holidays for dads and their kids

From dog-sledding in the Arctic Circle to following war-time freedom trails across the Pyrenees, brand new holiday company The Kids and Me offers real-life adventures that will appeal to both dads (and possibly more adventurous mums) and their children.

Unlike many activity family holidays where the kids are hived off to a kids club to free up parents to relax, The Kids and Me focuses on a voyage of discovery together, leaving lasting memories that money just can't buy. It is all about a little 'daring do', venturing into the unknown and coming through it together, fulfilled and totally connected to each other.

Founder, Richard Gould, himself a single dad, launched The Kids and Me in response to his personal circumstances. "I have always loved the outdoors and, post divorce, find that doing activities together are a great way to connect with my children. You have a laugh together whilst learning new skills, approach challenges as a team and there is always something to talk about at the end of the day. "

Themed holiday weeks include:

* Wilderness Experience - in the Arctic Circle, Sweden at Easter
* Seascape Escapade- on the stunning Welsh coast in July/August
* Hunter-Gatherer Journey - in the Arctic Circle, Sweden in August
* Alpine Challenge - in the Alps in August
* Mountains & Markets - in Morocco in July/August
* Escape to Victory - in the Pyrenees in August
* Island Escape - a gentler adventure in Corfu that will appeal to mums in July.

The Kids and Me holidays are organised in small groups, staying in fully catered lodges where friendships will be made and sustained through The Kids and Me Facebook page on return. Costing from £550 per person per week, The Kids and Me travel to spectacular locations and offer carefully thought out itineraries for children from 10 to 16 years old and their dads.

Having done some trial runs, Richard found that; "Both the parents and children on our holidays have a fantastic time. The activities really build confidence in some of these children - it's really touching to see first-hand. Dads can be dads and kids can be kids."
