South-West London streets named most expensive

When you are on the hunt to buy a new house in the UK, it is important that you know the price range of the area where you wish to invest. If you have a lavish budget, South-West London could be the place for you. In an expensive street list, put together by Lloyds TSB, places in South-West London topped the list.

7 Most Expensive Streets in England and Wales

Parkside, Merton: This area is a very short walk from the prestigious All England Tennis Club in Wimbledon, and research by Lloyds TSB named this to be the most exclusive street in both England and Wales. Expect to pay over £5,000,000 for the average new house.

Wycombe Square, Kensington and Chelsea: Previously the most expensive place in England and Wales, the second most prestigious area to invest in is Wycombe Square in Kensington and Chelsea. Prices for a new house cost on average £4,415,000.

Blenheim Crescent, Kensington and Chelsea: The third most expensive street costs an average of £4,346,000.

Mallord Street, Kensington and Chelsea: This is the fourth most expensive street in England and Wales, and property prices average £4,091,000.

Drayton Gardens, Kensington and Chelsea: The fifth most expensive street in South West London is Drayton Gardens. Expect to pay just over £4,000,000 for a new house.

Hampstead Lane, Camden: The sixth most expensive street situated in England and Wales is Hampstead Lane. The average price for a new house in this area is over £3,600,000.

Cedar Park Gardens, Merton: With its infamous SW19 postcode, Cedar Park Gardens has been named as the seventh most expensive street in England and Wales. The average price for a new house is over £3,500.000.

Properties in Kensington and Chelsea and central London continue to attract wealthy celebrities and business tycoons. Of course, this raises the price of properties in these areas and it ensures it remains that way.

Expensive Areas Outside of South-West London

Other properties that made it into the top twenty outside of the capital are Burkes Road, Beaconsfield, and Woodlands Road West, Virginia Water. These properties are both situated in South-East London. The average of both exceeds £2,700,000.

A substantial number of properties in England and Wales top the £1,000,000 mark in average house prices, and 36 are priced over £2,000,000. However, if you have the money, South-West London contains the top twenty most expensive streets in England and Wales.
