Sparshatts raises its game with new service offers

Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer Sparshatts of Kent is stepping up its drive to make life easier and more convenient for van operators by adding to the range of services it offers outside normal working hours.

The latest investments in new equipment and staff training at its Sittingbourne and Dartford workshops mean that in addition to routine vehicle repair and maintenance, Sparshatts is also now able to service air-conditioning systems and supply and fit tyres.

Mark Sparshatt, Joint Managing Director with responsibility for After Sales, explained: “Unlike some car retailers which also sell a few vans, Sparshatts of Kent is a dedicated truck and van dealer. This means we understand the pressures that operators are under, and appreciate the fact that when a vehicle is off the road it’s not earning money for its owner. And that’s why the fact that our workshop facilities are open through the night is proving so attractive to commercial vehicle customers.”

Sparshatts is committed, as far as is possible, to providing operators with a ‘one-stop shop’ service – hence its decision to introduce air-conditioning maintenance and tyre supply and fitment; the dealer has also recently introduced a ‘smart’ body repair facility at its Sittingbourne headquarters.

“We offer a free, 64-point winter ‘health check’ for vans and it was while undertaking these that we identified opportunities to win new business by extending the range of services that we offer,” continued Mark Sparshatt.

“We have researched the market and are confident that our prices are very competitive, while the fact that customers don’t have to lose the use of their vehicles during the day, when they’d prefer them to be out working, is obviously very attractive.”
