‘Leamington Live’ returns for second year with a royal feel
Royal Leamington Spa is to host the exciting ‘Leamington Live’ event for a second year running on Saturday 30 April. The event, which celebrates style, arts and culture within the town, will kick off with a live screening of the Royal Wedding on the 29 April in the Royal Pump Room Gardens and a family feature film in the afternoon.
Saturday 30 April sees a wide range of events and activities including live fashion, music, performance artists and a fun, family trail will take place throughout the town centre. Over 100 local businesses are expected to participate in this unique event which aims to promote the town's varied retailers in a fun and engaging way.
The live fashion show hosted by GMTV’s fashion stylist Mark Heyes will be one of the events highlights. Shows will be staged throughout the day in Regent Court showcasing the season’s hottest trends from Leamington retailers. Visitors can attend style workshops at the House of Fraser where professional models will demonstrate how to transform basic outfits. Pamper pods will enable visitors to receive complimentary treatments including manicures, massages, hair styling and make-up lessons and sample alternative therapies.
Contributing to the overall ambience of the event, a series of performance areas will be allocated across the town where carefully selected local artists will be given the opportunity to entertain visitors. Organised by BID Leamington, the event attracted nearly 90,000 people last year and is free for visitors to attend.
BID Leamington will also be launching its second “Little Book of Offers”. This extremely popular voucher book will once again feature lots of fantastic and exclusive discounts, promotions and free give-aways across a wide range of products and services in the town.
