Opulent Selous safari and Zanzibar

Specialist Tanzania is the UK’s only tour operator offering an exclusive stay at the brand new boutique eco lodge – Mivumo River Lodge, – combined with two nights at the Zanzibar Serena Inn in the capital, Stone Town (with a saving of up to £580 pp off the regular price).

The trip includes spending time at two of Tanzania’s World Heritage Sites, shared game-viewing drives in the Selous – the largest game reserve in the whole of Africa – followed by two days exploring the exciting ‘spice island’ of Zanzibar.

The trip commences at Dar es Salaam with a domestic flight providing a birds-eye view of the national reserve before landing in the Selous and checking into the ecologically-focused Mivumo River Lodge – one of the newest safari lodges in Africa.

The next two days will be spent spotting the wildlife that the region is famous for, returning to the lodge in the evening for some serious R&R in the luxurious tented suites that face the Rufiji River.

On day four, transfer to Stone Town, the capital of Zanzibar and birthplace to singing legend Freddie Mercury, with accommodation at the renowned luxury hotel the Serena Inn.

The following morning, a local expert will escort you on a walking tour to get under the skin of the town known locally as Mji Mkongwe – the cultural and historical centre of Zanzibar.

The itinerary ends with a domestic flight from Stone Town back to Dar es Salaam.

The holiday departs any time from February through to December this year and costs from £1375 pp (two sharing).
