Just over one week since driving away with yet another award for Scénic, Renault is now celebrating in equal style for Twingo, following its ‘City Car’ category win at the Parkers’ New Car Awards 2011.

Only on sale since January, the Twingo Bizu limited edition has already attracted significant attention thanks to a tempting price tag, impressive specification, affordable running costs and fun driving experience. Away from the podium, it also proved victorious in the latest edition of Top Gear magazine, comprehensively beating three other city cars costing under £8,000.

In Bizu guise, its range of standard features which regularly eclipses those of pricier rivals, includes 4x20W RDS radio single CD MP3 player with aux input, Bluetooth®, electric windows, ISOFIX two point mounting on left rear seat, remote central locking and front bumper sports styling.

Rather than purely relying on judging panel opinion, the Parkers’ New Car Awards use the tried and tested formula of its own cost of motoring tool to single out the best value cars to own and run.

Commenting on the award, Kieren Puffett, Editor of Parker’s, said, “The Renault Twingo 1.2 16V Bizu won the Parker’s New Car Awards 2011 City Car category because not only is it perfectly suited to driving around town and thanks to its light steering is also easy to park and manoeuvre, but when it comes to costs the Twingo excels as an overall package. It has a very efficient 1.2-litre petrol engine that delivers an official average figure of 55mpg, sits in insurance group nine, has frugal servicing costs and thanks to very competitive pricing, has strong residuals. As an overall package, it’s the City Car that makes the car buyers' cash go the furthest.”

The chic Twingo range starts at £6,595 for the award-winning Bizu 1.2 16V 75, rising to £14,500 for the critically acclaimed Gordini 133. For further information on Renault, visit renault.co.uk.
