Japan Journeys launches appeal

6th April 2011 Print

Specialist tour operator, Japan Journeys, has launched an appeal aimed at raising $10,000 to help a special project in Tohoku for children orphaned in Northern Japan.

The company has already donated $1,000 to the ‘Tohoku Kid’s Project’ which is a not for profit organisation that provides immediate and long-term materials and emotional support to orphanages in the region affected by the devastating earthquake and tsunami.

“We have organised tours to the country for seven years and everyone at Japan Journeys was devastated by the recent events particularly as we have all, at sometime, lived there,” said James Greenfield, Japan Journeys’ founder and managing director.

“We all feel an enormous debt of gratitude to Japan and the Japanese people and hope that in a small way our efforts will make a difference.”
